In Santorini there are many customs and traditions. Many religious festivals and fairs take place in Santorini throughout the year, but especially in summer.

The most well-known religious festivals in Kamari are:
The fair of Episkopi at Mesa Vouno on August 15th, when local fava beans and fasolada (white bean soup) are served. The festival of Agios Pangratios on 09 July with food, traditional music and dancing. The festival of Panagia Mirtidiotissa on 24 September, the patron saint of the village.

 

The cultural events and conferences that take place in Santorini attract the interest of visitors:


The ‘Ifaisteia’, a festival held in August organized by the Municipality of Thira with sea sports, beach volley games, music concerts, dance performances and the crowning event which is the virtual eruption of the volcano with fireworks. The International Music Festival held at the beginning of September with famous artists from every corner of the world appearing at the ‘Nomikos’ Conference Centre in Fira. And the ‘Jazz Santorini’ festival, an annual series of concerts at the end of August given by local and an increasing number of international jazz musicians, that takes place at the outdoor summer cinema in Kamari.
